Web Update Builder and updating clients it makes are now compatible with Windows Vista.

 

What was new in version 3.1

Simplified FTP access parameters setup

Starting from this version Web Update Builder will expect you to set FTP access parameters for a project in a widely accepted format consisting of "FTP host" and "Remote dir" entered separately. Previous versions of the program required FTP access parameters entered as one unified information.

Custom banner option for client programs

In addition to setting a logo image displayed in client programs you can now set your own banner image as well. That way client programs could be personalized in full.

 

What was new in version 3.0

Support for updating images

In addition to working with text, URLs and email addresses, client programs you make with Web Update Builder 3.0 will also work with images. Depending on image parsing option you choose, your end user will be able to put new image file on a page, change width and height parameters and type new ALT text for it. You will also be able to put limits on image size (width, height, file size) that a client program will accept for page update. Note: due to still unclear GIF-patent situation only JPG/PNG images are supported at this moment.

Support for Internet ScreenSaver Builder

Internet ScreenSaver Builder is a program for making screensavers with built-in technology for providing automatic updates from the Web. That concept allows all kinds of changes, from a single image to a completely new screensaver. If a screensaver contains some text, Web Update Builder can help with its maintenance because client programs it makes for updating web pages now also recognize internet screensaver text tags. This new option of Web Update Builder is designed especially for Internet ScreenSaver Builder users and it is completely free to use - you do not have to buy Web Update Builder just to update internet screensavers.

 

What was new in version 2.0

Working with object groups (Add Above, Add Below, Duplicate, Delete)

Two important features introduced here: horizontal style for displaying groups of editable areas and repeat type of WUB object.

When you enclose more than one HTML object with a single WUB tag Web Update Client will treat that as a group of objects and automatically create necessary number of editable areas to preserve layout just like before, but you can now choose the style for displaying that group of editable areas. New horizontal style will make Web Update Client put them in a row which is very useful when you have to edit contents in tables and similar structures.

When you set repeat parameter for a WUB tag Web Update Client will offer advanced editing options for the enclosed object: add above, add below, duplicate, delete. End user will be able to add another object of the same structure to the page or remove repeated objects up to the last item. This way end user can maintain tables, lists and similar structures on a page in a much more flexible way than before.

Enhanced File Scanning

File scanning is improved to check WUB tags syntax. You will be notified if there are errors in scanned files.
