Front Panel

Info Display Microphone Mode Title Ticker Volume Off (Minimize to SysTray) Next Message / Fast Play Forward Rewind Previous Message / Slow Play Settings Eject Stop Record Play Pause

 

 Stop/Record/Pause/Play

    Standard self-explanatory commands. Pause works both with Play and Record.

    Ctrl-Play: Holding Ctrl key while clicking on Play button calls Direct Message Selector. Small window will pop up with a list of all messages currently recorded. Chosen message will start playing automatically.

 Rewind
    Standard self-explanatory command. If your mouse has a wheel, you can use it to navigate Rewind/Forward both in stop and play mode.
 Previous Message / Slow Play
    This is a multifunctional button. Clicking it in Play mode will slow down message reproduction. Four low speed levels are available by successive clicks and to get back to normal speed just click back the same number of times in the opposite direction (Fast Play). In Stop mode this button allows you to move towards the first recorded message.
 Next Message / Fast Play
    This is a multifunctional button. Clicking it in Playback mode will speed up message reproduction. Four high speed levels are available by successive clicks and to get back to normal speed just click back the same number of times in the opposite direction (Slow Play). In Stop mode this button allows you to move towards the last recorded message.
 Fast Forward
    Standard self-explanatory command. If your mouse has a wheel, you can use it to navigate Rewind/Forward both in stop and play mode.
 Off (Minimize to SysTray)
    Minimizes Pocket Voice Recorder to SysTray icon. To bring it back on the screen just click on its tray icon or choose Show PVR command from right-click tray menu.
 Settings

      Note: Shortcut key for Settings menu is Alt-S.

      Export Message to WAV

        Export Message option allows you to export current message to a file in WAV format.

      Show Startup Dialog

        Displays the startup dialog.

      About Pocket Voice Recorder

        Opens window with basic information about the program, manufacturer and licence.

      Help

        Opens help index file.

      Volume Controls

        This menu option gives you easy access to Windows Volume Controls utilities. Choose Playback to bring up Windows Playback Volume Controls or choose Recording to bring up Windows Recording Volume Controls.

        Note: Windows Vista users will have three options under Volume Controls: Mixers, Playback Devices and Recording Devices. These will bring up corresponding Vista's dialogs.

      Always on Top

        If this option is active Pocket Voice Recorder's front panel will stay on top of the screen all the time until you deactivate it again or use Off command to minimize the program to systray.

      Available Shortcuts (F12)

        Opens additional Help screen that shows all available keyboard shortcuts. You can also use F12 key to call up this screen throughout the program. Availability of some keyboard shortcut depends on the current working mode so this screen is organized in tabs accordingly.

      Options

 Volume
    Volume commands react both on click-by-click and click-and-hold.
 Info Display
    Shows the current message number and total number of messages. Holding mouse pointer over it for a short time will bring up a tool tip that displays the remaining time until the ten minute limit is reached. Clicking brings up the list of all messages recorded, and the title of the list will also hold the information about the remaining recording time. Pocket Voice Recorder will go directly to the beginning of a selected message.
 Audio Signal
    Shows audio signal animation.
 Title Ticker
    Displays a customizable text line. Ticker temporarily stops when mouse pointer is over it. Click on it to edit the name of the current message. Right-click on it to get quick menu with following commands and options:
      Delete Message

        Deletes current message.

      Delete All Messages

        Completely deletes all recorded messages.

      Direct Message Selector

        Opens dialog for direct positioning at the start of any recorded message.

      Edit Message Name

        Opens dialog for editing current message name.

      Custom Text

        Opens dialog for typing in custom text that will be displayed on the ticker.

      Speed

        Selects ticker speed (slow, medium, fast).

      Direction

        Selects ticker direction (from right to left, from left to right, or none). When None is selected, the ticker does not scroll.

 Time Counter

    Shows a time counter. Exact Time Positioner (ETP) function is attached to it. Clicking will bring up a small window featuring a slider designed to provide quick access to any part of a recorded message. You can use a simple click or click and drag technique to operate the slider. If your mouse has a wheel, you can use it to navigate Exact Time Positioner, just keep Ctrl or Ctrl+Shift pressed while rolling.

 Delete Message

    Deletes the current message.
