  Dear subscriber,

Active Desktop Calendar 3.1 (build 031029) is ready for you to download:
http://www.xemico.com/adc/adc.zip

This version comes with Desktop Pictures, the option to add some of your pictures to the desktop on top of the background picture you may already have. It can be your company logo, some personal picture or anything else you like. You can have more than one picture displayed this way. Supported picture file formats are .BMP and .JPG.

  Coming soon: data sharing

We would like to share something exciting with you here and guess what, it's all about sharing. Next version that goes into development as we speak will bring two significant new developments to your favorite program: data layers and sharing through local area network.

Currently, all calendar data are stored in a single file so there is no way to separate them on any account. For example public holidays, personal and business notes all go to the same place now. Next version of the program will give you the opportunity to keep them apart, categorized in separate layers the way you want it. Layers will automatically blend on the desktop and you will be able to enable/disable and import/export such layers easily. That will give you much more freedom to organize personal activities and keep track of various events.

Introducing layers makes ground for another important feature that you will get soon. That is an opportunity to share data through the local area network. For example, you will be able to make a separate layer to list notes and tasks for a project you are working on together with your colleagues. Then they will simply connect to that layer and have the same data appear on their desktops. You enter new note on a project layer and they get it automatically in a short while. Increased productivity? You can bet on it.

Although these great novelties are already in the works we would still like to hear your opinion. You can send us comments and suggestions to info@xemico.com. We can not guarantee that any particular suggestion will make it to the program, but we assure you that we take all your feedback very seriously.
