Audio Panel

Pause/Play/Record/Stop

    Standard self-explanatory commands. Pause works both with Play and Record.

    Ctrl-Alt-Play: Holding Ctrl-Alt keys while clicking on Play button calls Direct Section Selector. Small window will pop-up with the list of all sections saved to the current meeting file. Chosen section will start playing automatically.

    Ctrl-Alt-Rec: Holding Ctrl-Alt key while clicking on Record button starts Insert recording. With this option you can insert new recordings into existing sections at desired location. It works from Stop, Play and Paused Play modes.

 Previous Section/Slow Play

    This is a multifunctional button. Clicking it in Play mode will slow down section playback. Four low speed levels are available by successive clicks and to get back to normal speed just click back the same number of times in the opposite direction (Fast Play). In Stop mode this button allows you to move towards the first section saved to the current meeting file.

Rewind

    Standard self-explanatory command. If your mouse has a wheel, you can use it to navigate Rewind/Forward both in Stop and Play mode (this works only when mouse pointer is positioned above audio panel).

Forward

    Standard self-explanatory command. If your mouse has a wheel, you can use it to navigate Rewind/Forward both in Stop and Play modes (this works only when mouse pointer is positioned above audio panel).

Next Section/Fast Play

    This is a multifunctional button. Clicking it in Play mode will speed up section reproduction. Four high speed levels are available by successive clicks and to get back to normal speed just click back the same number of times in the opposite direction (Slow Play). In Stop mode this button allows you to move towards the last section saved to the current meeting file.

Delete

    Deletes current section from the meeting file. Please note that a section will not be physically deleted if the Pack Meeting File on Delete option in the Settings dialog is not enabled.

Normal Mode

    In this mode, the process of recording is completely under your control. Start it by pressing Record button, end it on Stop, or temporarily suspend it on Pause.

VOR Mode

    VOR stands for Voice Operated Recording and means that the program will record only clear sound coming through the microphone and skip all periods of silence. For this mode to work properly you will have to experiment with settings for Recording Volume and Suppress Microphone Noise Level sliders. Please find these in the Settings dialog.

SET

    Note: Shortcut key for this menu is Alt-S.

    Send File by E-Mail

      This option allows you to send current meeting file by E-Mail as an attachment in your default email program. You can choose between sending the entire Minute of Meeting file, just the audio recording or just the text.

      Use this option to contact technical support regarding any problem you may have with Minutes of Meeting Recorder.

      This option will take you directly to the Minutes of Meeting Recorder's homepage.

    About MMR

      Opens window with basic information about the program, manufacturer and license.

    Help

      Opens help index file.

    Volume Controls

      By default, this menu option gives you easy access to Windows Volume Controls utilities. Choose Playback to bring up Windows Playback Volume Controls or choose Recording to bring up Windows Recording Volume Controls.

      Note: Windows Vista users will have three options under Volume Controls: Mixers, Playback Devices and Recording Devices. These will bring up corresponding Vista's dialogs.

    Always on Top

      If this option is active Minutes of Meeting Recorder workspace will stay on top of the screen all the time until you deactivate it again or use Off command to minimize the program to the system tray area on the taskbar.

    Show Startup Dialog

      Displays the program startup dialog.

    Available Shortcuts (F12)

      Opens additional Help screen that shows all available keyboard shortcuts. You can also use F12 key to call up this screen throughout the program. Availability of some keyboard shortcut depends on the current working mode so this screen is organized in tabs accordingly.

      The last two tabs, Off-Focus Mode and Off-Focus Extended, hold settings for special set of command shortcuts which could be enabled for use even when Minutes of Meeting Recorder is minimized to systray and does not have focus.

      Use Enable Off-Focus Mode Shortcuts and Enable Off-Focus Mode Extended Shortcuts checkboxes to enable or disable those shortcuts. Use Shift State listbox to choose which special keys combinations will be used to provide access to those shortcuts.

      Note: some special keys combinations may not be available on your computer due to conflicts with other applications or operating system shortcuts.

    Settings

      Opens dialog for changing different program's Settings.

Volume

    Volume commands react both on click-by-click and click-and-hold.

Title Ticker
    Shows the name of the current meeting file and current section as well as time stamp when the section was recorded. Ticker temporarily stops when mouse pointer is over it, then tooltip shows complete information. Click on it to edit section name. Right-click on it to get quick menu with following commands and options:
      Delete Section

        Deletes current section.

      Delete All Sections

        Completely deletes all sections in the current meeting file. All previously recorded material is lost.

      Rearrange Sections

        Opens dialog for rearranging audio contents of the current meeting file. It gives you the oportunity to move sections up or down the list, delete more than one at a time, merge two or more sections into one and save all those changes at once to the current meeting file.

        To select more than one section hold Ctrl and click. To select sections in a block, click on first section, then hold Shift and click on last section.

        Changes to the current audio contents will be made only after clicking on Save Changes so there is enough time to think them over and give up if necessary. Options available in Rearrange Sections dialog are:

          Move Up: Moves selected section up one place in the list.

          Move Down: Moves selected section down one place in the list.

          Delete: Deletes selected sections.

          Merge: Merges selected sections by appending them sequentially to the first selected section.

          Save Changes: Saves all changes to the current meeting file. This action can not be undone so be careful for mistakes. If not sure, it would be better to click Cancel and do rearrangements again than to lose some important section.

      Go To Section

        Opens dialog for direct positioning at the start of a section recorded.

      Edit Section Name

        Opens dialog for editing current section name.

      Speed

        Selects ticker speed (slow, medium, fast).

      Direction

        Selects ticker direction (from right to left, from left to right, or none). When None is selected, the ticker does not scroll.

     

Info Display
    Here you can find the time counter, current section number/number of all sections, audio signal display and volume display. You will find two special options attached to current message number and time counter:
      Exact Time Positioner (ETP)

        This option is attached to the time counter. If you click on it, a small window will open featuring a slider designed to provide quick access to any part of a recorded section. You can use a simple click or click and drag technique to operate the slider.

        If your mouse has a wheel, you can use it to navigate Exact Time Positioner, just keep Ctrl or Ctrl+Shift pressed while rolling.

      Direct Section Selector

        Clicking on the current section number brings up the list of all sections recorded on the current meeting file. Minutes of Meeting Recorder will go directly to the beginning of a selected section.
