What is New in Internet ScreenSaver Builder 5.1
|
|
 |
|
| |
Make
HTML Presentation SCR |
| |
You will find this option in the Tools menu of the program. It
allows you to make a screensaver of a very special kind. You just
set a URL and a screensaver file name, then click Make and the
screensaver is ready. It will display the web page from the given
URL and allow users to click on its links so surfing within the
screensaver is possible. Exit button is displayed in the top right
corner all the time. This type of screensaver is especially effective
when used for a news page.
|
| |
Make
Flash Presentation SCR |
| |
This one is very similar to Make HTML Presentation SCR described
above. You will select a flash file, type in a screensaver file
name, then click Make and the screensaver is ready. When such screensaver
runs, it has Exit button displayed in the top right corner all
the time and plays the flash file on the rest of the screen. Since
mouse pointer is visible and fully operational you can make very
advanced screensavers based on interactive flash.
(NOTE: due to
complexity of flash there is no guarantee that each and every flash
file you try will work with this option)

What
was New in ISSB 5.0 |
| |
Show
HTML |
| |
This is an exciting new option in the program. It allows you to
add HTML contents to your screensavers. You can define position
and size of the screen area where it will be displayed and you
have two options for adding. One option is to embed MHT or HTML
file that you can later update on the screensaver's web location
and the other is to set an URL directly so a screensaver uses live
contents.
|
| |
Flash
Playback Timer Control |
| |
Now you can set the exact playback time for a flash file. It is
especially useful for flash files that are made with action scripts
as in those cases screensaver can not know when it should stop
playing the flash file. If you set this option to 0 screensaver
will play the flash file in an endless loop.
|
| |
Resize
Images |
| |
When you set an image you can change its original size to a custom
size. You can also change image size later in the development and
it will automatically affect all Show and Move commands. Additionally,
you can set "full screen" option for an image and screensaver
will automatically stretch it to full screen resolution.
|
| |
11
New Transition Effects |
| |
Total number of transition effects is now 84 and new effects are:
Crossed (Left, Right), Boxed (Grow, Shrink), Triangle, Roll (Left,
Right, Top, Bottom, Horizontal, Vertical).
|
| |
Three
Additional Image File Formats |
| |
In addition to BMP and JPG formats the program now supports PCX,
TGA and PNG image file formats as well.
|
| |
Support
For Midi Files |
| |
From now on you will be able to use Midi sound files (.MID) in
your screensavers.
|
| |
Text
Justification |
| |
Text command is enhanced with three standard justification options:
left, center, right.
|
| |
Full
Screen Resize With Original Aspect |
| |
When selecting images to add to your screensaver project you will
be able to see the small image preview directly in the open new
image dialog.
|
| |
Preview
Available For Image Selection |
| |
If you are using Full screen option to resize an image, now you
can also enable Original aspect option for it. In that case the
image will be resized to the max possible size that maintains its
original aspect within limits of the full screen size.
|
| |
Screensaver
Web Location Redirection |
| |
If necessary you can change the web location for a screensaver
created with this version by using the redirection tag in the screensaver's
config file. You can do this by adding the following simple tag
to the screensaver config file: <Redirect>NewWebLocationURL</Redirect>.
Please note that a new web location information is stored in the
system registry and if removed from there the screensaver will
automatically roll back to the original web location.

| |
What
was New in ISSB 4.5 |
| |
Flash
File Support |
| |
Internet ScreenSaver Builder now supports Flash
(SWF) files. Please note that the necessary Flash player needs to
be installed on the computer or the flash sequences will be skipped. |
| |
Text
Messages Extracted To A Separate File For Quicker Updates |
| |
In addition to screen saver's scenario and visual
components, program now uploads to a web server all text messages
in the separate source file. This makes screen saver updating as
quick and effortless as possible: changing a text message will initiate
text source file download only, not the entire screen saver like
it did before when text messages were part of a screen saver's scenario. |
| |
Remote
Control Over Check For Update Interval |
| |
Internet Screen Saver Builder now allows you to
control update intervals in screen savers through the special configuration
file it uploads to a web server along with other screen saver scenario
and component files. By modifying that file you can increase or
decrease the check for update interval efficiently. This way you
will have full control over screen saver's performance and load
balance on a web server. |
| |
What was
New in ISSB 4.0 |
| |
FTP
Upload |
| |
Internet ScreenSaver Builder features FTP client
that will help you to transfer all necessary internet screen saver
files to its web location without leaving the program. |
| |
Easier
Screen Saver Publishing |
| |
Internet screen savers are somewhat more complicated to create
and publish in comparison to standard ones. Now you have additional
work to put internet screen saver scenario and component files to
its web location. We have tried to make this process as easy and
straightforward as possible. Program now automatically places screen
saver's scenario into issb.html file and prepares all necessary
component files for upload to web server with built-in FTP client.
|
| |
HTTP
Authentication for Screen Savers |
| |
This option gives you the opportunity to limit access
to your internet screen saver by providing users with username and
password required for internet screen saver to access its web location.
Basic HTTP authentication is used. To set it up consult manuals
for your web server or contact your web site administrator. |
| |
Screen
Saver Download Improvements |
| |
All created screen savers have improved download
management capabilities as users will be able to see more details
during download process. In addition to main progress bar users
will see the following: total number of objects (files) that have
to be downloaded, object that is currently downloading, its total
size and how many bytes are downloaded displayed also as a progress
bar. |
| |
Cleaning
Cached Files |
| |
Screen saver development usually includes a lot
of testing and that might end up with large number of screen saver
versions cached in your Documents & Settings folder taking up
space unnecessarily. There is an option in Tools menu called "Clean
cached files" that will delete all cached files from Documents
& Settings folder for currently opened .XIS file. |
