Play/Stop/Rewind/Forward |
Standard self-explanatory commands. Playback always
starts from the red blinking marker that you can see on the positioning
bar.
 |
Cut Markers |
To make a cut-out you first have to mark it.
Therefore, first position the red blinking marker at the beginning of
the cut-out. You can do that by starting playback from any position of
the red blinking marker you initially choose and stopping at the
desired position, then you can use options for moving back and forward
5 seconds to fine tune the position and finally you can enter the exact
position directly into the counter. Once the position is set click
Begin (or press Ctrl-B) for the first marker.
Then repeat the process for the second marker and
click End (or press Ctrl-E). As a result you will get a highlighted
zone on the positioning bar and that zone will be removed if you click
on Cut. To hear what exactly will be removed right click on the
positioning bar and choose Play Selection.
When the position of the red blinking marker is
exactly on one of the markers its flag becomes yellow. If you look at
the screenshot above you will see that the red blinking marker is
positioned right at the cut-out begin marker. You can also click and
drag the marker to a new position or while it is selected (marker flag
is yellow) you can fine tune its position by typing in new counter
value directly or clicking on 5 seconds back/forward options.
Finally, you can use keyboard shortcuts to move a cut
marker if one is selected: Page Up to go straight to the beginning,
Page Down to go to the end, Up Arrow to move a little bit back and Down
Arrow to move a little bit forward. All these shortcuts work when none
of the cut markers is selected and in that case only the red blinking
marker will be moved.

Cut/Split/Undo
last |
Cutting: Place cut markers for cut-out you want to
make and click Cut to discard that part of the message. You can undo
the cut as long as you do not make another one or click Ok to finish
with editing.
Splitting: Place cut markers the way you want the
message to be splitted and click Split to get the message divided in
two or three parts. What is left in the message editor after splitting
is always that part of the message that was between cut markers. You
can undo the split as long as you do not make another one or click Ok
to finish with editing.

Position |
This counter shows the exact position of the red
blinking marker. You can enter the value directly into it if you want
to get an absolute precision. You can use standard navigation keys
here: Home, End, Left Arrow, Right Arrow.

Positioning
bar |
Windows 2000 and XP users will see this bar
transparent. Anyway, it represents the whole recorded message ready for
editing. The ruler above it shows the scale for rough orientation
depending on the length of recording. Once you position cut-out markers
highlighted zone represents the part of recording that will go away if
you click on Cut. Click anywhere on the positioning bar to place the
red blinking marker which represents the starting point for the
playback.
By right clicking on the positioning bar you can
access the following set of options:
Play Selection
Mark Begin/End Position
Clear Begin/End Marker
Clear Markers
Select Begin/End Marker
These two options work the same as clicking directly
on the markers' flags. When a marker is selected you can fine tune its
position by typing in new counter value directly or clicking on 5
seconds back/forward options.
Deselect Marker
Removes seletion from a cut marker so you can move
just the red blinking marker to a new position. You can get the same
effect by clicking anywhere on the positioning bar.
Double click action
Here you can tell the program what to do when you
double click on the positioning bar. Available options are: No Action,
Play Selection or Clear Markers.
